Delicious Brown Butter
Butter just by itself is wonderful.
BUT, picture this, you add another layer of flavor to the already delicious food.
Now that favorite food has more dimensions and so much happiness.
Um, can we whip up some brown butter together?
Jesse and Hannah from Mr. Apple Pie (Man Card Book 9) are in the kitchen creating a new apple pie recipe again. Hannah has so much fun mixing up flavors that flow with all the varieties of apples on the Appleton Farm.
Since the food truck is only open from May until the end of October. During the off-season, you’ll find Hannah whipping up something new. Ideas pop in her mind almost daily. Their menu options keep growing because every recipe ends up being a winner.
Hannah makes fried apple pie recipes simply irresistible.
So, um, yeah, we needed brown butter in our life. I’m honestly surprised we didn’t have it on the blog already.
You can watch the how-to video here.
At first, I just wanted to make brown butter pecan cinnamon rolls. Then I realized not everyone knows how to make brown butter. So I decided to create a special blog that shines a special light on one of my favorites.
I remember when I first started blogging way back in 2010, I would read how to make brown butter but somehow the instructions were difficult to understand because I always burnt my brown butter. Then I started working at a cafe as a pastry chef. I was so thankful when the head chef took the time to show me the proper way to make the delicious happiness. Since I’m a visual learner it all made sense from that moment on.
I hope the blog and YouTube video help you because trust me, you’ll want brown butter in your life.

Delicious Brown Butter
Recipe by Terra Kelly
Prep: None
Cook: 2-5 minutes (depending on how much butter you are using)
Makes: Depends on how much butter you are using.
Watch the YouTube how-to video here.
Ingredient
Butter (use the amount you need from a recipe)
Directions
Small sauté pan over medium-high heat. Add your butter and let it melt down.
Once the butter is melted, you don’t want to walk away from the pan. Browning the butter can happen quickly. Carefully keep pan just above the burner and move it around continuously.
When you leave it sitting on the burner without any movement the butter can quickly burn.
If you continuously move the butter in the pan over the heat, it prevents the butter from burning and browns it evenly throughout.
Once it’s ready- you can add the melted butter to your recipe or let it solidify and use it for another recipe later.
NOTE: The stove-top temperature could vary depending on if you have a gas or electric stove. Just remember you don’t want it to hit boiling point because some of the butter will evaporate at too high of heat.
